Paul Heuer passed away on Wednesday, September 16th, 2009 after a tough battle with cancer. Below I have posted a copy of his wife Katie's posting about his passing.

When Paul started this journey thirteen months ago, he wanted to take things one bridge at a time.  This morning at 12:10 am, God came to take Paul across that final bridge.  He went peacefully, lying next to me holding my hand.  I can only assume that he as already found a pick-up game of basketball, or started practicing his guitar again, or is doing one of the many things that he has not been able to do since last August.  I am happy for him that he is finally in a place where he is no long in pain and burdened by disease.   Now the journey begins for the rest of us, as we try to reconcile everything that has happened, and figure out how to live without Paul in our lives. 

Many thanks to the nurses and staff at North Memorial Hospice for allowing Paul to take the last steps of his journey peacefully.  They are truly some of the most caring people on the earth, and they all have a place reserved in heaven. 

Again, thank you to everyone who has prayed for, loved and supported Paul and me while battling this disease.  Please take some time today to look to the heavens and smile, and let Paul know that he is loved.
