Mike Gaudette
Ok people, here is the plan -- in an effort to relive the past glory years of high school, I will be hosting a good old fashioned "kegger" on Saturday. To prove that we have "matured" in the last 20 years, this kegger will have a modern day twist -- no orange iron ore on our tires as it will be hosted at my house near Ruttgers Bay Lake Lodge.
Time: Party will start at NOON on Saturday
Directions: For those of you with GPS or who want to Mapquest it or Google it or whatever it is that you computer literate people do, the physical address is as follows:
23876 Peterson Lake Road Deerwood, MN 56444-8281
For those of you still stuck in 1988:
Take Highway 6 South going out of Deerwood as though going towards Ruttgers
Roughly 3.5 to 4 miles outside of Deerwood, turn right on Placid Lake Drive -- if you see Tomary Ranch on your right (Julie Swenson's place) or Ruttgers Bay Lake Lodge on your left, you have gone too far so turn around
Placid Lake Drive will turn downhill where you can actually see Placid Lake -- just after the lake it will start to go back uphill and there will be a major dirt road to your left called Peterson Lake Road -- exit here to your left
Off of Peterson Lake Road, I am the only house on the right hand side. There is a large "gated" entry with "Gaudette" written over it and I will also try to post signs off of Highway 6 and Peterson Lake Road for those "slower" classmates like Kagel to follow.
Parking: You will notice two homes when you get there -- don't worry, they're both mine. Feel free to start parking at either home. If we get enough of a turn out where this fills up, please feel free to park your cars in the upper lawn by the gate and walk in (don't worry, it isn't far, and the exercise will do you good).
What to bring: I am supplying the keg and the grill. I am also purchasing various flavors of pop and bottled water that will be in coolers for those of you who want to take it easy, for the kids, or for those who want mixed drinks. As I am having a hard time gauging how many will show up, I only ask that if you want something to eat off the grill, bring it yourself. I will have it fired up and will have plates and silverware available, just bring whatever you want to toss on the grill.
If you have them, I am also asking that you bring a folding chair for you or your family as I am running short. Also, if you have any games that we can set up in the yard, I encourage you to bring them too!
As I have mentioned, I have my daughter Elle, so I encourage you to bring both spouses and children! I hope to have several games set up to keep us all occupied and I also have trails leading through the woods for walks. There are two lakes and I do have some boats (paddle boat, canoes, and a row boat) -- the only requirement I will have there is that if children want to use them, please have an adult accompanying them as I don't want to find any "floaters" in my lake.
Also, any single ladies or female classmates coming without spouses will be required to take a shot of Tequila to gain access to the festivities. This will be non-negotiable. It is my party, my house, and I have discovered (much to my chagrin) that in order for any woman to find me in the least bit interesting and/or good looking that they must be drunk, so I thought I'd just start by stacking the odds in my favor!
If you have any questions, prior to the party my number is 952-857-9882. During the course of the reunion weekend, my local number is 534-3504.
