Born: February 25, 1943 in Elgin, IL
Died: September 11, 2021 in Woodstock, IL
Marland James Goll, 78, of Woodstock, IL passed away on September 11, 2021, in his home after a short illness. Born February 25, 1943, in Elgin, IL to Murrell and Hilda "Toni" (nee Glaze) Goll. Beloved husband of 58 years to Marlys (nee Moennig); loving brother of Jeffrey and Jamison Goll; preceded in death by his parents and sister, Julie Ann Goll Armstrong. Marland spent most of his life in Crystal Lake graduating from Crystal Lake Central High School in 1961. He went on to work for United Airlines, 1964 until his retirement in 1998. After a couple years of retirement, he went to work for Lee Jensen Sales Company for 17 years. Marland traveled worldwide with his sons to Germany, Japan, Poland, Australia, S. Korea, Viet Nam and Israel. Marland was an avid piano and organ player, ministering in many churches in the area over a 60-year period. He is survived by his wife and 4 sons; Bradly (Traci Tisserand), Todd (Christine Brierley), Andrew (Trina DeBoer), Jason (Melissa Alt); eleven grandchildren, Cassidi, Noah, Ashley, Hans, Gaige, Dailynn, Kailer, Ean, Dylan, Ava and Oliver. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Compassion International, 12290 Voyager Parkway, Colorado Springs, CO 80921.
The Celebration of Life will take place at First Church, 236 W. Crystal Lake Avenue, Crystal Lake, IL 60014 on Friday, September 17, 2021, 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. with service at 3:00 p.m.
