In Memory

Pat Madsen (Edler)

Pat Madsen (Edler)

Our classmate Pat Madsen Elder passed away Feb. 2, 2016.  She never joined the site and was on our missing classmates list.  I never know Pat very well, although I think we were in the same schools from the time my family moved to Crystal Lake in 1956.  I remember she was a good friend to Linda Johnson.

Please share any memories you may have of her on this memorial page.  A visitation will be at Queerhammer and Flagg on Friday, Feb. 5th from 4 to 7.

I remember Pat as a kind, quiet and very considerate person in classes we shared. A great sense of humor. Intelligent and always eager to help a classmate.

Pat along with Linda Johnson were the first people I met when we moved to CL in 1961.  She was always a sweet girl.  I was just thinking about her the other day.  I remember going to the lake with her and Linda.  The good old days.  We lost touch many years ago and I always wondered what she was up to.  RIP Pat, and many prayers to your family.

We started kindergarten together and Kurt is right, Pat was very quiet and kind. I never heard her say a bad word about anyone.

Oh gosh. Patty and I grew up together on Everett Avenue – part of the Everett Gang. We played a lot together, day and night. Always nice. Always cheery. Like Linda across the street. And we have lost her as well. I have old pictures somewhere. Patty’s dad was always inventing stuff. One year he made a robot out of sheet metal. We got inside and stumbled around. It was an adventure on that block. I wrote about that time in a little story kept in a digital drawer on my computer. Patty was a part of it. Those years. Those times. I miss them. My heart goes out to Patty’s family. Please know there will be fond memories forever.

Patty was one of the origianl Everett St gang.  I think we all moved there around the same time.  I might have been one of the early ones (I was 3 yrs old) All of a sudden there was a Bunch of kids on Everett!  We had so much fun growing up there.  Madsen's was one of the gathering places because they ended up with 6 kids so Verniece and Pete probably didn't even know we didn't belong there!  I went through every grade with her except for 1/2 of 6th when I moved out to Edgewood rd, but were back together again in the new South Jr High. Hugs to her family, she was alway a very sweet, kind girl.

I knew Pat for many years, always liked her very much, but regret not getting to know her better during our school years together. She was always kind and friendly. So sad to lose yet another classmate. My thoughts and prayers go out to her family.
