A truly shining and giving soul. Sandy was always so positive and truly a gentle person. The last of my childhood "Girl friends". My sincerest sympathies to Tom, her sister Denise and the rest of Sandy's family. She will be greatly missed.

Sandy and I renewed our friendship through emails in the past year. Her communications were heartfelt, inspiring and uplifting. She somehow made me feel more centered and whole, and she reminded me of where I (and all the rest of you) came from. What a tiger she was.

I am happy to say that because of our classmate website I was able to re-connect with Sandy this past year. I was able to let her know how many of us felt close to her during high school, and I knew her from grade school. She will be in our hearts always.

Sandy was one of the good ones at High School. I have charms on my charm bracelet from her from our "Double Dates" that I just showed my Granddaughter the other day and explained that's how we kept memories from fun times we had growing up. Sandy and I had lots of fun times.

My heartfelt sympathy to Tom and family.

Whenever I picture Sandy I see her with her wonderful smile. Some of my very best memories from JH on include Sandy. We lost touch during the last few years, but she continued in my prayers. I am so sad and my heart reaches out to Tom who was her true high school sweetheart.

My memories of Sandy were mostly about being a cheerleader. I do remember slumber parties at her house. She was always so sweet and had a very sweet mom and lived on Woodstock street across Debbie Churan and down the street from the Johnson family. And of course, she married Tom Thurston who was in our class at St Thomas for 8 years. He must miss Sandy deeply.

Whenever I think of Sandy I think of the color pink.  We went to France together in the summer of 1964 ostensibly to learn French.  We were housed in a convent and had to eat fish practically every day.  However, they also let us drink wine with meals!  Sandy had a pink robe, a pink nightie, pink rollers, pink slippers and probably a pink toothbrush.  I must say she looked fabulous in pink---guess that is a good thing!

I think that trip changed both of our lives as she went on to be a flight attendant and I went overseas to teach school.  I am terribly saddened that Sandy had to deal with cancer.  She was a sweet gal and always had that gorgeous smile.  She will really be missed.  I am glad I saw her at the 35th reunion.
