John was a good friend and a very kind hearted soul. We became better friends when we met up at the church we both attended at the time and kept in touch often. He would always laugh at my corny jokes.
Memory: I remember when we were playing football he would always challenge the guys to punch him in the abs as hard as we could....he could take a gut punch like no other....
I have known John since elementry school at Dickerson through Apollo Jr. High & then Cypress. What an athlete, and what a good friend. While we both hung around with different "crews" John & I had occassion to work on class projects, homework assignments and played some sports together as well. He was one of the few guys who looked past what others considered a "geek" or un-cool guy, and was happy to have you as a friend and confidant. See you on the playground John....
I remember John being good natured about taking practical jokes from other guys on the football team in the locker room at CHS. I have fond memories of DePippo, I was sorry to discover he is no longer with us...
Oh... makes me so sad. John was such a sweet guy! I remember skating with him at Skateway! I used to see him when I went to the Buena Park Mall... he worked in a shoe store. So cute and shy. God Bless your soul, John, you blessed mine. ~Kera
