Steve was a great guy and used to make us laugh alot. I followed the sad process of his illness ... he is still missed by many and thought of often. ~Faith Barnese

Steve and I were friends from the time we were 3 years old, and stayed in touch until his death. He is greatly missed.

Steve was my buddy when we were kids and It's been a long time since I've seen him. The prospect of seeing him again was one of the reasons I was looking forward to this reunion. Seeing his name here was quite a shock!! I WILL see you again my friend, I guess it's just gonna be a little while longer...

Steve my prom-date, my good buddy. I really thought he would pull through, people like Steve should'nt leave us so soon. We had great times, even after college. I will always miss you my good friend. Liisa

I was very blessed to spend time with Steve before he passed. He recounted the exact day in January 1972 when I walked into the 4th grade at Cypress Elementary School (my brother, sister and I looking a bit like the "Little Rock 3")...deeply missing our Chicago home. Steve made me feel welcome and kept me laughing for DECADES. We had MANY great times and "oddball" adventures! Steve taught me how to drive a "stick" in his Mustang Classic. Thanks to Steve, my children thought Santa lived on "Embarcadero St... San Francisco, CA" his parting gift of love to us. "Swindle"...I miss you more than words can say......thank you so much for being my friend. "Wicks"

Steve...what a sweet, sweet guy. My favorite (and funniest) memory of Steve is 10th grade, Driver's Ed with Mr. Delapp. It was me, Steve, Eric Candelaria and Felicia Romero in a car. We had pulled over in a neighborhood and it was now Steve's turn to drive. He got in the driver's seat, was ready to go, and accelerated. The only problem was that he was in reverse and should have been in drive. The car flew backwards and Mr. Delapp hit the brake that was on his side of the car. I remember all Mr. Delapp saying was, "Put it in drive Steve" and Eric, Felicia and I snickering in the backseat. This still makes me smile. I remember telling Steve this story at the 10-year reunion and him telling me that he still, at that time, wasn't a good driver. Steve was such a kind soul and a truly good person. He'll be forever missed.

Oh Steve ...

Steve was one of those kind people who made everyone feel welcome and important. He took in the strays ... RIP Steve, I will remember you
