Joe was my neighbor we lived across the street from each other on Orange ave. . He was a very nice boy and grew to be a fine man.  I remember him fondly.  He was my friend.

There once were five of us doing what teenagers do, Paul, Steve, Anthony, me and Joe.  Often everyone wound up at my house and just hanging out, my mom was very cool about that stuff and let us do our thing. After June of 81 we got jobs or joined the military but stayed in conact.

The years past and we drifted apart. Paul and Anthony ran into Joe more than I becasue family lived in the neiborhood and they would hang out with him. If someone where going to the store Joe would hold up a finger and say I'd like a diet coke....Prior to Joes passing I ran into him, same friendly smile happy lucky go kind of guy. He was a was the same, but different. He was sick but didn't say... soon after that Paul called and he said was in the hosipaital then later he died. That was May 2000.

My wife was pregnant at Joes funeral and last April we ran into Joes mom Virginia. She asked how our baby was doing, smiled at me and said, "its been 11 years since my Joe past, I'm sure you son isnt a baby anymore"

I miss my freind...
