Richard Lee Nelson, age 66, of Arlington passed away Monday, Sept. 16, 2013. Funeral: 3 p.m. Friday in Moore Funeral Home Chapel, 1219 N. Davis Drive. Interment will follow in Moore Memorial Gardens. Visitation: for family and friends will be 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Moore Funeral Home. Memorials: The family suggests memorials to the Alzheimer's Foundation at www.alzfdh.org. He was born June 27, 1947, in Dallas to Elmer Lee Nelson and Katherine Lucille Cox Nelson. Rick graduated from Sunset High School and received a bachelor's degree from the University of North Texas. He married Karen Ruth Nelson on Sept. 13, 1968. Rick had a career as executive director for Senior Health Care Industries. He was a member of Delta Sigma Phi Fraternity and the Fort Worth Alzheimer's Association. He had a great passion for photography, cooking, networking, and being a troop leader camp counselor for the Boy Scouts of America. Rick was a devoted father, grandfather, Popi and friend who leaves behind a loving family so very grateful for his love, support and wisdom. He will be deeply missed by all, and will remain in our hearts forever. Survivors: Daughter, Courtney Lea Browning and husband, Billy; son, Brian Charles Nelson and wife, Elisabeth; grandchildren, Trent Allen Browning, Malica Lea Khan and Beckett Paul Nelson; sister, Lizabeth Kay Nelson Belflower; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
