Billy Bob Derryberry, Served in The U.S. Navy
Billy Bob Derryberry, 46, of Maypearl, died Friday, July 9, 1993, at Baylor Medical Center at
Waxahachie.
He was born Feb. 16, 1947, in Dallas, Texas, to Charles and Margaret Derryberry. He
graduated From Hillcrest High School in 1965.
Derryberry served in the U.S. Navy for six years aboard nuclear powered submarines. He was
honorably discharged in 1972. He was formerly employed by Xerox and was currently general
manager of Saffell Plumbing Co.
He was a member of First Baptist Church of Maypearl, where he taught Sunday School. He
also was the vice president of Maypearl Youth Association and coached baseball for Maypearl
youth. Derryberry loved youth and was especially interested in their participation in sports.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter; three sons; his mother, Margaret Adeline Derryberry of
Grand Prairie; a sister, Joyce Billion of Grand Prairie; and several other relatives including
aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by a son, Jacob Daniel Derryberry, and his father, Charles
Derryberry.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday, July 12, at the Boze-Mitchell Funeral Home
Chapel. Interment will be at Maypearl Cemetery.
The family requests that memorials be made to the Maypearl School Libraries.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Boze-Mitchell Funeral Home in Waxahachie.
Pallbearers will be Brad Wiggins, Andy Armstrong, Jacob Austin, Jason Barton, David
Benavides and Scott Russell.
