In Memory

Sam Kasmir

Sam Kasmir passed away peacefully on Monday, December 24, 2007. His life was defined by his limitless compassion and caring for others, his enthusiasm for hard work and life, and most of all his sense of humor. Sam was born in Daytona Beach, Florida to Frank & Celia Kasmir. He was raised in Dallas with his siblings Cyril & Susan. Sam was a true innovator in business and a visionary for the company, which he deeply loved. With his guidance and direction, Kasmir Fabrics grew to national prominence in the wholesale fabric industry. He knew how to make anything happen. Sam always arrived in the office before dawn. Everyone thought it was because he was so driven, which he was. But more than that, it was so he could be home early in the day to have time with his family. Whether it was a school function, extra curricular activity or just for fun, Linda, Dylan, Simon and Max could always count on Sam. Sam believed that everyone has a responsibility to leave this world a better place. He led by example, touching more lives than we'll ever know. He took a genuine interest in those he knew and even those he didn't. He was always there to motivate and teach, instill confidence and wisdom and share a good story, a joke and an easy laugh. His quick wit, deep love of family, friends and work and everything else that was uniquely Sam will be sorely missed. He was truly larger than life. Sam is survived by Linda, his beloved wife of 27 1/2 years, his sons, Dylan and wife Traci Massin, Simon and Max Kasmir, his granddaughters, Izzy and Layla Massin, his mother, Celia Kasmir and sister Susan Kasmir. He is preceded in death by his father, Frank Kasmir and his brother, Cyril Kasmir. The family wishes to give special thanks to Yvonne, Jaque and Marilyn. Services will be held Friday, December 28, 2007 at 12 p.m. at Sparkman Hillcrest, 7405 W. Northwest Hwy, Dallas, TX 75225. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kasmir Family Scholarship Fund at Jesuit College Preparatory School, 12345 Inwood Road, Dallas, TX 75244 or the charity of your choice.
