Joe, or Mac, as his friends called him, was my friend from the age of 5 onwards.  A really sweet, gentle and smart guy, I was proud to be his friend.  We had a lot of good times together.  I had looked forward to seeing him at the reunion and we had written to each other about it, but he never revealed how very ill he was.  He was brave onto the end.  I miss him so much!  Patty Bowen Sullivan

I am deeply saddened to learn of Mac's death.  We became close friends at Ben Franklin with a relationship that continued well after we graduated.  He was kind, sensitive and a great guy.

I remember Joe as one of the smart but gentle members of our class. I am happy to see that his life reflected his love for the Lord. Ted

I was so sad to learn of Joe's death.  I remember he wanted to come to our 40th but was unable due to a hurricane.  He was such a kind person.  I will miss him.
