Allan James Kamen of Dallas, Texas passed away July 27, 2015 at Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Dallas, Texas of pancreatic cancer.

 

Allan was born in Fort Worth, Texas on May 6, 1947 to Irving and Ida Kamen of Corsicana. He was a ten-year Navy veteran serving aboard the USS Shangri-La and USS Long Beach during the Vietnam War, and later as Counselor, Alcoholism Recovery Service, Naval Regional Medical Center, Long Beach, California. Following his Naval service, he earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Texas at Dallas.

 

Allan is survived by his wife Cecile; children Charles Kamen and Karen Kamen; and grandchildren Elyse Kamen, Adam Kamen, Owen Cole, and Evelyn Cole.
