Some of the best times of my life were when I was with my brother playing basketball. He took me everywhere with him. We would play basketball at home, at Antioch Elementary where at the time all we had was an outdoor basketball court. We would go to the recreation center and play in the gym there.

Even when he started dating my sister-in-law Brenda he continued to take me everywhere he went.Who would do that? I didn't even ask him most of the time. He only left me at home when he and Brenda went to the prom. I remember so well when Gary and Brenda got married. It was June 26, 1971. It was a beautiful, hot summer day. It rained that night and I cried as many tears as the rain. Don't get me wrong. I love Brenda,  I just wanted my brother.

Gary was a wonderful brother, son, husband, dad, grandfather, uncle and friend. He always took care of my parents and all of us. I know with all my heart my dear brother is strolling over heaven with my parents and grandparents and all of my family who have gone on before.

I look back on our school life at Eastbrook High School with much joy and happiness. I am working to get this reunion together for my sake but in my brother's honor.

I have warm, wonderful memories of Gary. But as I said before, I just want my brother.  God bless you Gary!

I am forever your loving sister, Carolyn Sisson Patterson

In less than two days we will have our all years Eastbrook reunion, classes of 1967-1978. It always comes back to my brother, Gary Lee Sisson. He meant so much to me. He was my mentor and my role model. I will never, ever forget him or all the love he had for me. After this is over I pray I can "rest in peace" on this earth until I meet my brother again. I know my brother is enjoying heaven with my parents. I will see you soon I pray. Your little sister, Carolyn

It was a wonderful night dear brother. I went to the memory board several times that night. I visited with your old friends and mine as we looked at your picture. A lot of nice things were said about you, from classmates to teachers to coaches. All the comments were good, they miss you and I do so very much. Some classmates apologized in case they made me cry. I said I do this all the time. Everyone had a wonderful time but some people just couldn't come, too many memories. Brenda said she just couldn't because that gym was so much a part of your life. I understand what she means so much. Ok, I have ended in tears, so I will bid you a good night. Enjoy heaven and pray I will see you soon. I love you, Carolyn
