Mrs. Phyllis June (Kelley) London, age 63, of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Wednesday evening, September 9, 2015 in the comfort of her home, with her loving husband of over eighteen years at her bedside. Phyllis loved life and her family. She was a lab tech at Textile Rubber and Chemical Company until she was disabled with Parkinson Disease. She loved the Lord, Jesus Christ and was a member of the Church of God.
Phyllis was born January 30, 1952 in Dalton, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her father, Rural C. “Butch” Kelley, nephew, Gary David Kelley, Jr., grandparents, Grover and Julia Timms, Annie Maude Kelley and J.O. Kelley, Sr., brother and sisters-in-law, Jerry and Lynn London and Patricia London.
She is survived by her husband, Donald “Don” London of the residence; mother and special Dad, Syble and Ronnie Smith of Dalton, GA; daughters and son-in-law, Traci Franklin of Dalton, GA; Cheri Desiree and Michael Rhoten of Rocky Face, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Terry Jason and Tiffany Beavers of Rocky Face, GA; step-daughter, La Donna London of Dalton, GA; brother and sister-in-law, Gary and Patti Kelley of Dalton, GA; sisters and brothers-in-law, Glenda and Pete Barry, Diane and Arvil James all of Rocky Face, GA; grandchildren, Brittany Patterson, Whittney Patterson, Anthony Rhoten, Dylan Franklin, Jaxon Beavers, Jenna Beavers; aunts and uncles, Katherine Plemmons, Ruby and Tommy Mathis, Clifford Kelley; special niece, Amanda Fleming; great-aunt, Janette Greeson; special cousins, Lynn and Jim Ellis; special friends, Sandra McKeehan, Deb and Jimmy Gilreath; special brothers and sisters-in-law, Terry and Debbie London of Bowling Green, KY, James W. and Cynthia London, Jr. and Michael London; several nieces and nephews. Phyllis June “PJ” will be missed dearly by her loved ones!!!!
Services to celebrate the life of Phyllis June London will be held Saturday, September 12, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Robert Beavers and Reverend Don Asbell officiating. She will be laid to rest at Ponders Whitfield Memorial Gardens with Jason Beavers, Anthony Rhoten, Mike Rhoten, Scott Ellis, Arvil James and Pete Barry serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Friday and after 11:00 a.m. Saturday until the service hour.
