William Fendley

Mr. William Lamar "Bill" Fendley, 52, of 1456 Shady Acres, died Thursday, Oct. 8, 1992, at 11:42 p.m. at his home after an extended illness.

He was born in Ellijay on Dec. 14, 1939.  He attended Berry College and taught Industrial Arts in Gainesville before he and wife Jean moved to Dalton in 1965.

He taught at Eastbrook High School for 10 years before becoming co-owner of Osborne Cabinet and Appliance, Inc. 

Survivors include his wife, Jean Bowden Fendley of Dalton; one daughter, Sheryl Lynn Fendley of Atlanta; one son, Christopher Todd Fendley of Dalton; mother, Winnie Fendley of Ellijay.

Services will be today at 11 a.m. at the chapel of Love Funeral Home with the Revs. Dean Taylor and Warner Holloway officiating.

Burial will follow in Whitfield Memorial Gardens.

The family received friends at the funeral home Friday.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to Hospice, c/o Hamilton Medical Center, P.O. Box 1168, Dalton, Ga. 30722-1168 or the Family Crisis Center, P.O. Box 554, Dalton, Ga. 30722-0554.

Love Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Dudley Lock (1972)

Bill died from complications of cancer in 1992, and is buried in the Whitfield Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
