James R. "Jimmy" Ashford, 39, of 405 Downing St., Dalton, died Friday morning, Feb. 24, 1995.

Ashford was born June 17, 1955, in Fulton County.

He was preceded in death by his father, Benjamin Raleigh Ashford.

Survivors include his daughters, Amie Ashford and Requel Ashford, both of Dalton; mother, Mrs. Addie Mae Ingram Ashford of Dalton; aunts, Mrs. Mary Bruce, Mrs. Rosie Jett, Mrs. Alice Brown, all of Dawsonville, Mrs. Mary Ruth Reece of East Ellijay; uncles, Joe Ingram of Dawsonville, Robert Ingram of Newnan, Tom Ashford of East Ellijay; cousins.

Services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at the chapel of Ponders Funeral Home with the Rev. John Manley officiating.

Burial will be at 4 p.m. at Turniptown Baptist Church Cemetery in Gilmer County.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home today after 6 p.m.

Arrangements are by Ponders Funeral Home, 501 N. Hamilton St.
