James Lamar Bailey - Class Of 1974

Mr. James Lamar Bailey, 49, of Ormond Beach, Fla., and formerly of Dalton, died Wednesday, Aug. 24, 2005, at the Hospice of Volusia in Ormond Beach surrounded by his loving family.

He was preceded in death by his father, James Bailey; grandparents, Rann and Emma Bailey and Joe Bishop; aunt, Mary Cole; and a brother-in-law, Herb Joyce. 

Lamar was a 1974 graduate of Eastbrook High School and was an auto body mechanic by trade.

He is survived by his mother, Betty (Bishop) McPherson of Dalton; wife, Debbie Bailey; step-son, Joey and step-daughter, Jessie all of Ormond Beach; grandmother, Mammie Bishop of Dalton; sisters and brothers-in-law, Gail and Carl Bradley, Mendy and Henry Rogers and Patty Joyce; nieces, Jennifer Bradley and Regina Durham; great-nephews, Hunter and Ian Bradley, all of Dalton; several aunts, uncles, cousins. and many friends.

Services to celebrate the life of Lamar Bailey are Sunday at 7 p.m. in the Melrose Chapel of Ponders Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday after 5:30 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Volusia/Flagler Hospice, 3800 Woodbriar Trail, Port Orange, FL 32129.

L.B. Bailey "James Lamar Bailey" who was born December 30, 1955, in Dalton, Ga., died Wed-nesday, Aug. 24, 2005, at Hospice of Volusia/Flagler, Port Orange. Memorial service will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 3, at Okeenan's Pub, 1252 8th Street at the Derby Plaza. James enjoyed fishing, camping and drinking beer. He will be missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his wife, Debra Bailey, Ormond Beach; daughter, Jessi Berry; son, Joseph Faircloth; six grandchildren, Cody and Courtney Berry, Richard, Elizabeth, Sandy and David Faircloth, all of Daytona Beach; mother, Betty McPherson; grandmother, Nanny Bishop; sisters, Gail Bradley, Patty Joyce, Mindy McPherson; and aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins, all from Dalton.
