Skipper Allen "Skip" Montieth

Skipper Allen “Skip” Montieth, 60, of Chatsworth, departed this life Wednesday January 29, 2015. Skip was born November 4, 1954 in Dalton. Skip was preceded in death by his father, Willie “Dan” Montieth of Dalton and niece, Cynthia Montieth Palomino of Dalton.

Skip spent many years working in the hardware business, spending time at Fraker’s, Hubb’s, Haney, and Ace Hardware. Skip made many friends while in the hardware business and enjoyed helping them with their projects.

Skip is survived by his daughter, Kelly (Paul) Bennett of  Atlanta; mother, Martha Skipper Montieth, brothers and sisters-in-law, Danny and Patricia Montieth and Patricia Montieth, Kenneth and Ginger Montieth of Rocky Face; and sister, Linda Montieth, all of Dalton; niece, Pam and Chris Murray; great-nieces, Griselda Vazquez, Kelcie and Ryleigh Murray; great-nephew Miguel Aristondo, all of Dalton.

A memorial service to celebrate the life or Mr. Skipper Allen “Skip” Montieth will be Monday at 7 p.m. from the chapel of Ponders Melrose Chapel with Charlie Hamm officiating. The family will receive frinds at the funeral home Monday after 4 p.m.
