Mr. Howell C. Brown, 73, of Chatsworth, died Saturday, at 10:24 p.m. in Hamilton Medical Center.

He was a member of Eton Baptist Church, a retired school teacher of the Murray County School System. He taught business classes at Eastbrook High School in Whitfield County. He was a member of the Retired Teacher's Association of Murray County, a member of the Retired Teacher's Association of the nation, a member of the Retired Teacher's Association of Georgia and a veteran of World War II.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Colleen Wilson Brown of Chatsworth; one daughter, Mrs. Mary Margaret Lanier of Dalton; one brother, Lofton Brown of Knoxville, Tenn.; one sister, Mrs. Glenn Howard of Eton; nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held today at 2 p.m. at Eton Baptist Church with Brother Ed Campbell, the Rev. Barry Massey, the Rev. B.F. Babb and Danny Cochran officiating.  Burial will follow in Eton Cemetery. The body will lie in state 30 minutes prior to the funeral service.
