DURANT, Iowa -- Services for Michael V. Brus, Hinckley, Ill., formerly of Durant, will be noon Saturday,  Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, Durant. Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Friday at Bentley Funeral Homes, Durant, and 11 a.m. Saturday until the time of the services at the church. A Loyal Order of the Moose service will be conducted at 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Mr. Brus died Monday, Feb. 5, 2001, at Gottlieb Memorial Hospital, Melrose Park, Ill. He was an engine test technician in development and research at Navistar, Melrose Park. Michael V. Brus was born on May 17, 1952, to Melvin and Arleen (Siefers) Brus in Patuxent River, Md. He married Terry L. Ewoldt on Aug. 3, 1973, in Davenport. He was a Marine Corps veteran of the Vietnam War. Mike was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose, Lodge 28, Davenport, since 1973. He loved scuba diving and woodworking. He was fanatic about his lawn and trimming trees. He was an Elvis fan and collected Pepsi memorabilia. Memorials may be made to the Life Care Center at Moose Haven, Orange Park, FL. Survivors include his wife, Terry; his sons, Jared (his fiancee, Jeanne Carroll), Ames, and Jason (his fiancee, Shanna Owen, Big Rock, Ill.), Ames; his parents, Arleen and Melvin Brus, Walcott; his sister Linda (John) Kostichek, Walcott; his brothers, John (Lynn), Stockton, and Andrew (Sue), Walcott; and his father-in-law, Rudolph Ewoldt, of Florida. Mike was preceded in death by his grandparents; and his mother-in-law, Darlene Ewoldt.
