DAVENPORT -- James, R. Davis, of Davenport, died Saturday, Nov. 22, 2003, in Davenport. Per his wishes there will be no visitation or service. Cremation rites have been accorded. James was born May 23, 1953, in Davenport, to Carl and Maureen (Demaree) Davis. He was formerly married to Sharon Tonjes in July 1973 in Lamars, Iowa. He was a choral director and taught music in Hemet, Calif., both at the high school and junior college. He had been working on his doctorate prior to his illness. He is lovingly survived by his parents, Carl and Maureen Davis, of Davenport; sister and brother-in-law, Judy and Dick Benson, Wausau, Wis.; special aunt and uncle, Maxine and Lyle Goodwin; and nieces, nephews and several good friends, as well as his dog, Babe, his constant companion.
