Charles Schellhorn

Charles "Chuck" Schellhorn died May 30, 2017, in Anchorage, Alaska. He was 64. He was born January 1, 1953. Chuck enlisted in the U.S. Army in the spring of 1971, becoming a paratrooper. The Army sent him to Alaska in 1972.

Chuck received a degree in HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) at Scott Community College in Davenport. Returning to Alaska, he spent 22 years in Valdez doing service and construction work, and then moved to Anchorage in 2001, where he worked at the Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport. He retired in 2016 as an electronic technician.

Chuck enjoyed softball, fishing, hunting, skiing, hiking, rock climbing, and rafting. He is survived by two sisters and a brother.

His friend Roger Boire (also WHS ’71), who knew Chuck since 9th grade at Williams Jr. High, said, “I don't know of a nicer, more considerate, helpful person. Chuck was a friend to everyone he met and will truly be missed.”
