STEVEN W. RARDON, 50, of Romney, died February 23 [1997] when he fell into a well behind his home and drowned.
A resident of Romney for the past 27 years, he was born August 22, 1946, in Lafayette, and graduated in 1964 from Central Catholic High School.
A senior chemical operator at Eli Lilly Co. for 28 years, he also served on the First Responder Fire Brigade.
His marriage to Mary F. Filey was in September 1980 and she survives.
A Navy veteran of the Vietnam War, Mr. Rardon attended St. Ann Catholic Church. He was an avid golfer.
Surviving with his wife are a daughter, Mrs. Kenneth (Erin) Heard of Basking Ridge, NJ; a son, Dustin Rardon of Norfolk, VA; four step-sons, Jeffrey Dildine of Belton, TX, Joseph Dildine of Romney and Anthony Dildine and Michael Dildine, a stepdaughter, Mrs. Murray (Jill) Marshall, and his mother, Rose Rardon, all of Lafayette; two brothers, James Rardon of Kentland and Gene Rardon of Susanville, CA; and two sisters, Rosalie Zaragoza of Lafayette and Teresa Armstrong of Carmel.
