Jerome “Jerry” Alan Sever, age 62 of Brookville, Ohio passed away peacefully, and pain free on Saturday, December 7, 2019 at 7:40 AM at Hospice of Dayton, Dayton, Ohio. Born in Dayton, Ohio on June 24, 1957 he was one of 3 children to the late Thomas H. Sever & Barbara A. (VanCleave) Sever. He had lost both of his parents by the age of 13, and was raised by his 2 older sisters, Jenny & Judy. He graduated from Meadowdale High School, class of 1975. After high school he went on to work for Dayton Steel Co. for over 15 years. Not long after working for Dayton Steel, he met the love of his life, Lori, and they got married on April 17, 1982. In the years of 1982, and 1985 he became a father, and was amazing at being a Dad. He then went on to work for the City of Trotwood, and retired as the Utilities Crew Leader after 16 years. After he retired, he decided he needed some busy work, so he made buckeye necklaces, keychains and bracelets; did yard work and gardening, he was known as “Mr. Green Thumb”. When he wasn’t busy doing that, he was making various things from wood, he was very handy with a saw. Lori and Jerry would have garage parties, where you could find them dancing to music, watching Ohio State football, or the Cincinnati Bengals, Reds Baseball games, or Nascar racing. More than anything he loved his family and spending time with his grandchildren. Jerry was a family man, with a huge heart, gentle soul, and will always be remembered as “The best man we have ever known.”
