Mark Litt

Marc Richard Litt, age 67, of Jacksonville, Florida, passed away peacefully in his home on Saturday, August 10th, surrounded by his loved ones, after a five year battle with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (“ALS” or Lou Gehrig's disease).

Marc was born on March 21, 1957 to Sol and Muriel Litt. He raised in Dayton, Ohio and attended Denison University. He earned his medical degree at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine and did his internal medicine residency and fellowship in cardiology at Johns Hopkins University. In 1986, Marc married Sheri, and together they raised their sons, Alex (36) and Michael (34). He was an accomplished Interventional Cardiologist at Jacksonville Heart Group/Baptist Health for 30+ years in Jacksonville and was well known for his brilliant mind and for the compassion he showed his patients. Outside of the hospital, he could be found hiking in the national parks, traveling, attending Jaguars games, going to concerts, painting landscapes, and reading history books. He was a true Renaissance man.

Marc is survived by his wife, Sheri, his sons, Alex and Michael, his daughters-in-law, Sarah and Christy, his sisters, Karen Litt Lippes and Rori Litt Stevens, and his grandchildren, Jay, Eli, and Leia. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sol and Muriel.
