DITTRICK, Norma of Dayton, Ohio passed away in Columbus, Ohio June 4 following complications of a transplant. Norma was 47 years old and a graduate of Meadowdale High School and Wright State University. Norma was currently employed by Wright State University School of Medicine as a Senior Emergency Medical Services Technologist. Norma was primarily in charge of American Heart Association classes such as Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, and many others. Norma assisted in various ways with the medical school and the Emergency Medicine Residency program for about 24 years. Norma was a paramedic and firefighter with the Harrison Township Fire Department for about 20 years and currently served as the Emergency Medical Services Coordinator. Norma is a member of Ohio's Federal Emergency Management Agency Urban Search and Rescue Task Force. Initially she performed as a Medical Specialist and currently as an oversight Committee member. Norma served Emergency Medical Services well as an instructor for paramedics, Emergency Medical Technicians, First Responders, and others. She was a representative to the Greater Miami Valley Emergency Medical Services Council and served in many ways including the presidency of the Council. Norma was an active member of many committees of the Ohio Region: American Heart Association and currently chaired the External Cardiac Care Committee. From Ohio Norma was utilized to assist the National American Heart Association with several functions. Norma was the very loving wife and companion of Dale Dittrick a recently retired Dayton Fire Department Lieutenant and former Harrison Township Fire Department member, where they met. Norma's fine father Bill Tollett of Crossville, Tennessee is a retiree from General Motors in Dayton. Her mother Mary Hoskins-Tollett of Hyden, Kentucky a retiree from Globe Industries preceded Norma in death. Norma's gracious sister Kimberly Tollett-Wilson of Murfreesboro, Tennessee is presently a Vice President of Black Box Services and a graduate of Tennessee Technical College. Norma's wonderful brother Bill Tollett of Murfreesboro is a teacher and coach at Eagleville Schools following his graduation from Tennessee Tech. and is about to receive his Masters. Norma has a step daughter Sara Dittrick living in Dayton. Additionally Norma has many aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, and nieces.
