I was very saddened to hear that we had lost Kris at such a young age! Kris always had a bright smile and was loved by so many. I think it's funny that my most fond memory of him is also what he wrote about in my yearbook senior year. I picked up the yearbook after seeing on here he had died to see what he had written. We were at Yearbook Seminar in the summer before our Senior year and I remember all these girls fawning all over Kris. That of course wasn't anything unusual. They ended up being in the room next to ours and we stayed up really late tapping the walls and talking to them, and a couple of times he went to the door to talk through the crack of the door. Of course they were all tapping and talking to him, but it was still a fun time. Kris was a sweet, genuine and nice person. I had been searching for him the last few years to reconnect. Little did I know that he had died so long ago.
Another fond memory is his performance for Mr. Mainland. He did a little routine in a grass skirt to Jimmy Buffet's song about the volcano.
Kris, we lost you far too early in your life!

I like Paul also have many fond memories of Kris, He was my "boyfriend" in Junior High and was a sweet and genuine person. I remember Mr. Mainland, he was great and looked so cute in that grass skirt.

Kris Keener was my "boyfriend" in 2nd grade! He wrote me a love note at Tomoka Elementary that said, "I Love You, Do You Love me? Check Yes or No" and he had drawn these little boxes for my X. I guess you know what I answered! Debbie Detter and I used to fight over him when we were in elementary school and we used to tease each other about who was going to marry him. LOL!

I always admired Kris because he just had that natural ability to get along with EVERYONE! He always made you feel welcome into his circle of friends and I remember when I volunteered to help with the Senior Class float for homecoming, he was so attentive to make sure that I had all the supplies that I needed that evening. He just always made you feel so special.

I am so sad to hear that we lost Kris at such an early age. Kris and I went to school together for 12 years and were always such great friends.

The thing I liked so much about Kris is that he was nice to EVERYONE! yes...there were the really cool kids who hung out and were nice to the other cool kids...then there were the smart kids who got along with the other smart kids...but Kris, he was nice to everyone! He was awesome! I'm so sad to hear about him.
