Gail Barbara Grainger, Nee Hecker, 49, 20 year resident of Hugo, Minn. She lost her 13 year battle with Breast Cancer on Nov. 25, 2014, at J.A. Wedum Hospice House.Gail was born March 8 of 1965, in Green Bay, Wis., to her parents, Valerie (Verhasselt) Hecker and Jerome Hecker. Gail graduated from De Pere East High School. She married Kurt P. Grainger of Green Bay, on Sept. 8 1990. They moved to the White Bear Lake area of Minnesota, in 1994. Gail attended college at Northeast Technical College, in Green Bay Wis., where she earned an Associate degree in Accounting. She started her business career at Pioneer Metal Finishing in Green Bay. Throughout the next several years Gail was promoted several times; customer service to business office manager etc. PMF then offered to move Gail to Minnesota and another promotion as their Finance Manager. Gail left PMF to take a job as the Director of Finance at Midwest Spine Institute, where she spent many years. She decided to retire to enjoy life. After a couple months she decided she missed work too much wanted to go back to work and she took a position of Financial Integrity Manager at Regions Hospital. After a couple years she really missed the personal side of managing an office. Gail then took a job as the Business Office Manager at Neurosurgical Associates. Gail volunteered her time helping whatever sport or teams her daughter or husband were a part of. She was the Secretary of the WBL Soccer Association, Treasurer of Hugo Fire Department - Fireflies, and she donated her time to WBL Cheerleading fundraising projects and attended Britain's Cheer events and competitions and soccer games because supporting Britain was always her highest priority. Gail is survived by her husband, Kurt Grainger; her daughter, Britain Grainger; sisters, Sue (Rick) Paulick, Lynn (Jim) Stiloski, Diane (Steve) McDonough, Karen (Pat) Bougie, Mary Ann (Steve) Dorvinen, Sharon (Dave) Ducat; brothers, Bob (Bobbi) Hecker, Roger (Laurie) Hecker, Rick (Mary Lou) Hecker; in-laws, Kim (Charlie) Brown, Todd (Sally) Grainger and many nieces and nephews, espceially Jessica, your many, many visits were chersished.. Gail is preceded in death by her parents, Valerie and Jerome Hecker, Ruby and Gary Grainger, and brother, Ronald Hecker.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, Dec. 4, 2014, at 11 a.m. at ST. ANDREW'S LUTHERAN CHURCH, 900 Stillwater Rd., Mahtomedi. Visitation Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at BRADSHAW CELEBRATION OF LIFE CENTER, 2800 Curve Crest Blvd. (NW Corner of Hwy 36 & Co Rd 5), Stillwater and one hour prior to the service at church.
