The value of a website like this.

What value (if any) do you see in a website like this one?   I am simply delighted with this new website. Vicky is improving it day-by-day and opening up new avenues for utilizing the opportunities that can be found in a site like this. It is an online "reunion" that we can attend in the comfort of our own home.

I've never attended one of Crestwood's reunions in person, but kind of thought they might be a shallow 'showing' of our successes unless we're brave enough to go - trembling in fear that our failures might be found out. Most people I've met pride themselves on losing weight and picking the right outfit to impress their former classmates. In my work as a hospice chaplain, a large part of the services I provide are to facilitate a "Life Review". That is an important step toward reconciliation and acceptance of the life we have been given on this earth as we prepare to leave it. We only need look at the number of our classmates that have already died to realize that our lives are entering their twilight where decline is going to be the order of the day. I think this website has the potential to add quality to our lives in personal reflection on our lives thus far. It really is limited only by our lack of willingness to participate and engage with one another.

Many of us use sites like "Twitter" or we "Blog" or otherwise enter into conversation with perfect strangers. Why not increase our chances of a real connection by inviting one another to join us as we 'remember' the years that absolutely molded us in so many ways that we probably can't count them. That's my two cents for today. Anybody else have an opinion that they're willing to share?

Sharon, Very nicely put. I hope this site is a success and it keeps everyone in touch with old friends and maybe even some new friends.

The values of this website cannot be described. Just remembering the days at Brainard, Highview, Haston and Crestwood are amazing. The people that stick out in your memory, the sights, sounds and even the smells of those hallowed halls we clamored down for so many years make one nostalgic. I did not graduate from high school (G.E.D.), but what I lived through all of the years I was attending school will never leave my heart or my soul. I have tried to keep up with those that I considered myself close to, but life has led me down a path that many might not have survived. The values and moral standards that we were taught in those formative years made us who we are today. Many of us have seen the good and bad that life had to offer us and now that we are getting on in years those memories are what we cherish and cling to. Can anyone really say that they would want to go back and change anything in their life? I would not be who I am today if any part of my life was different, how about you? This is a wonderful place to visit once or twice a week, I have made some contacts with classmates and look forward to catching up or even meeting with some of those classmates. I think Vicky has done a great thing for all of us and she should be commended for all of her effort in putting this website together.

Vicky, I can't imagine the time and dedication that you've put in to this website. Great job! I've done my best to encourage those that I'm in contact with to continue to update their profiles as new things are added and to contact any friends/family they have to sign on.

I absolutely agree with Sharon. We must all remember to "Get busy living," and I can't commend Vicky enough for providing a safe environment for people who know each other or want to get to know each other better because they didn't get the chance to. So many people stay busy working all hours, raising kids, and doing for others, that they have forgotten to slow down, review, take care of themselves, and start living life themselves. Maybe I would change one or two things if I had this life to live over, but regret...no way. Every ounce of laughter, every challenge, and every tribulation in my life has made me who I am today. Who am I? A woman who believes things happen for a reason and there's a greater power guiding our way.

Vicky...this site is AWESOME!!!

When I accepted the invitation to join, I was not prepared for the attention to detail, the Care and the Love that has obviously gone into this site. I can't imagine the work to set up and import all of the data to make this work.

I don't think I am that much different from anybody else who grew up in the years we did...High School was fun and terrifying, traumatic and majestic. Our interactions helped to form us into the adults we have become. Even though many of us went to to college and have collected degrees and titles as well as successes and failures, Crestwood will always be a focal point, a Touchstone, if you will, that we can use to possibly remember the last time we knew anything for sure, the last time we felt as if we could Change the World, the last time we could relish our (relative) innocence and naiveté.

I will always remember my years at Crestwood, (AND Brainard, Highview and Haston) fondly, because of the people I met and came to know, and the lessons (about Life) that I hope I have learned. As I have grown older, Crestwood has grown a little dimmer.

Vicky, you have helped to shine a light on those years and all of the great people once again.

I had to look at the "In Memory" section, and I stopped short when I saw some of the names of people who have left us already, all so young and all too soon. I still have tears as I write this, because several were friends, ans a few were very good friends. I'm praying for their families even as I write.

For however more years I have, and, as the brother of FOUR Crestwood grads and the Father of 2.75 Crestwood grads, let me close with:

 Crestwood Forever!

Ever since I signed into this website, I have found it fascinating and nostalgic. I see and read about people I have known from the past  enjoying reading their stories and even have a laugh at some comments that are made. I am also thankful to see the "In Memory" section to know what has happened to some of our peers that have left us all to soon but at least I know they are in good hands. Thanks for the memories!!! I am hoping more people from the past catch on to this website. There are so many more people I want to hear about!!!!   Mary Schmittling Lennox

As my son enters his Senior Year at Plymouth High School in Canton, MI, this coming September, I am remembering the my own experiences back in 1975.  I've stressed to him the importance of an education, but also, the value of taking time out for having fun with friends.  He plays dodgeball with buddies on Wednesdays, goes to the movies, and just "hangs out".  This website has been fun to navigate and read about long lost classmates.  Nice Job.

VICKY….YOU DID A WONDERFUL THING!

I often wondered about some of my classmates, where they went?, what they did
with their lives?, did they reach their goals?, are they happy?, are they well? With this web site, I now know! I enjoy conversing with some of my old classmates. I will do my best to let others know about this wonderful site your created. You are to be commended on your attention to detail and your dedication.

Thank you!
