Jim was a cool guy, an excellent athlete and lover of quality (and loud!) rock 'n roll. We attended many concerts together, along with good friend Richard Cook (also now a resident of Boyne City). Richard was Jim's longtime best buddy, having grown up across the street from him on Edward near Howard school. I enjoyed hearing them reminisce about being youngsters and somehow climbing up onto the elementary school roof and getting chased off by the custodian. Jim fought a good fight with various health problems, and seemed to be doing okay when he suddenly passed away. He is missed.
