Margie Rupert (Lieder)

Greg and I were close in college at UM and we always kept up our friendship by phone. He lived with his wife Mary in Michigan and Georgia and had another home in Florida. I lived in Texas and California with classmate, and friend, Chuck Lieder. Greg kept up with all his friends from Dearborn High. He knew where so many of our classmates were and what they were doing and he would keep me up to date. Unfortunately he developed this little known, hard to diagnose cancer called adenoid cystemic carcinoma and died on Valentine's Day in 2014 after a valiant fight. He never gave up. I will miss him so much at this reunion. Margie Rupert Lieder

We feel so badly about.Greg.  Interestingly enough, we both bought homes in a golf course community in Fl.  I ran into him while walking one day and since he had a Detroit Pistons T-shirt on, we stopped to chat and acertained that we were both from Dearborn...Then who we are...Met his wife, daughter and grandkids.. When my first husband was very ill with Lewy Body Dementia, Greg would call to see if he could do anything to help..and he did a few wonderful things for me..Then, he got sick and was able to meet for dinner a few times with the assistance of Larry Haddock.(Mr. fine tone comb).  He was realy one of the good ones...He would tease me that he was probably the only person who remembered me with braces in jr. high   a true story   Will be thinking of him at the reunion. Love ya, Mary and Kal

Greg was like my brother and like many brothers we were polar opposites in many respects.  Greg was a Wolverine through and through and I am a Spartan.  Greg was gregarious and would talk to anyone while I am reticent.  We were opposites but I loved his heart, his passion, his thoughtfulness, his fighting spirit, and his wild side.  But his most endearing quality was his love of family and friends.  Greg kept Dick, Larry, and me together as friends for over 50 years.  We miss him dearly and I miss my brother who drove me crazy sometimes but I always loved him and will forever.  No one would have enjoyed this reunion more that Greg and, so, when the time is appropriate please raise a glass in rememberance of Greg my dear friend and brother.
