Wilda was the first classmate I met when we moved to Decatur.  We were in the 6th grade in Mrs. Sermon's room, not an easy time to to be the "new kid in class".  Wilda was kind and welcoming, and became a friend.  I treasure my memories of time with her during those transition years.

I had a crush on Wilda in high school. The Edwards twins set up a date for me. Wilda turned me down for future dates. I was crushed.

Get in line Bob Thomas. I too had a crush on Wilda, but never had the courage to ask her out. I loved to watch her playing the flute in the band. I was disappointed when she told me at our first reunion (25th?) that she stopped playing right after graduation.
