I did not remember that George did not graduate with us.Well, like several others, Judy Parker and Barbara Watson for instance, we always consider them part of us.
My most vivid memories of George involve playing basketball in PE. Like Bobby Riddle, he was not tall, but he was fast and had quick hands. Playing "shirts and skins" George could steal the ball from me with ease, and take it in for an easy lay-up.He also had a deadly jump shot.
At some point, a large sink hole opened up on his family's Mooresville farm and we were fearful that the whole farm would be swallowed up. Fortunately, our juvenile fears did not come to pass.
Like so many others, I never saw George after high school, but also like so many of our classmates, he must have been a good man because he was such a good boy. Richard Allen
