Mary Jane was a real sweet classmate. I will always remember her smile. She had a beautiful smile. She wrote the following article which was in the school paper. These are her own words:
THE CLASS OF '59
On June l, 1959, our class will graduate. For some it will be a happy occasion but for others it will be a sad time. For all of us it will be a time when we leave high school and the friends we've made through the years. Graduation seemed so far away last September but now it's here.

The year that will stand out most in our minds is our senior year. We've worked very hard.

Soon after the magazine sales were over we started rehearsal for our play, "The Man Who Came to Dinner". Again the class worked hard and the play was a success. It had been fun but for those in the play it was rather sad when the curtain came down on our last high school play.

We couldn't have had a complete year without our football games and pep rallies. The T.V.C. Championship was quite a feather in our cap.

After Christmas, the rehearsal scheduled for the Senior Scrambles was made. The committee had already begun the plans for a great show. It was hard work to put a good show together but we came out on top again because on February 12th and 13th the Scrambles proved to be a hit!

Already we were excited about the Washington Trip. The Seniors who went to Washinton all agree we had a wonderful time. This was the highlight of our year.

Probably each Senior has a special time they will remember when they think of the Class of "59 but whatever we remember-one thing is sure-we'll all remember our Senior year.

Again these are Mary Jane's own words. But she did a great job writing this.

Those of us who were lucky enough to have Mrs. Wooten for American History will remember that she required us to read 6 books and give oral book reports on many of them. Mary Jane was fearless and gave lengthy and interesting reports on the difficult books she choose to read, while some of us socially challenged souls struggled mightly to fill two minutes, mostly with stammering and giberish. She was the best and I always envied her self confidence and intellect. Of course I never told her that, being socially challenged and all. RFA
