I’m a lifelong resident of Georgia. Graduated from Georgia State University in 1972 with a degree in Urban Government and worked for the Dekalb County Planning Department for seven years on a variety of projects including planning for the MARTA system, housing, and economic development. In 1979, started a small business renovating older homes for resell in Decatur and eventually formed a residential remodeling company. For the past 20 years I’ve focused on commercial construction (President, Kodiak Construction Inc. in Lilburn, GA).

In 2006 I ran unsuccessfully for U.S. Congress in Georgia's 7th District against the 16 year incumbent (losing with 30% of the vote) and in 2008 I ran unsuccessfully for the Georgia House (losing with 46% of the vote). No political plans at the moment.

Beverly (Beverly Estes, DHS Class of ’71) and I were married in 1987 and live in Lawrenceville with our yellow Lab “Cooper.” We have a blended family of six grown children and three grandchildren with a fourth due in May 2010. Beverly returned to school after a 28-year break. She graduated from Agnes Scott College in 2003 with honors and graduated from Georgia State University with both a master’s and an Ed.S degree in Counseling. She is currently working for a non-profit counseling center in Lawrenceville, treating women with drug addiction.
