Dennis Lee Wagner

Dennis Lee Wagner, 64, of The Villages, FL, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, September 27, 2012.


Born in Defiance, OH he was the son of Jeannine (Murphy) Wagner and the late Howard "Ike" Wagner.  Dennis was a retired Human Resource Coordinator for General Motors, Central Foundry Division of Defiance, OH.  He enjoyed Country music, playing the acoustic guitar and golf.  He was an accomplished martial artist achieving the level of 8th Degree Black Belt in Shuri-Ryu. He was most proud of his family, grandchildren and especially his wife of 45 years, Becky.  Dennis was of the Lutheran Faith and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, The Villages, FL.  He came to the The Villages from Defiance, OH in 2003.  Dennis leaves his wife, Becky (Squires) Wagner of The Villages, his mother Jeannine "Gert" (Murphy) Wagner of Defiance, OH, a son Thomas L. Wagner and wife Danyel of Avilla, IN, a sister Ginna (Steve) Waxler of Defiance, OH, and grandchildren, Nathan Thomas Wagner and Corey Steven Wagner.  Besides his father he was predeceased by a daughter Kelly Lynn Wagner and a son, Chad Daniel Wagner.  

Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 4th at 11:00 am Hanenkrath-Clevenger-Schaffer Funeral Home, Defiance, OH with Pastor Brad Faler officiating.  Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 2-8pm on Wednesday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in memory of Dennis Wagner be made to support Kidney Cancer Research at the Cleveland Clinic Taussig Cancer Institute.  Make checks payable to Cleveland Clinic Foundation - PO Box 931517 - Cleveland, OH  44193-1655.  Memo line:  Kidney Cancer Research Fund 055466.
