LAWSON, Nancy Mott Of Chicago, Il Formerly of Delton, MI Nancy Lawson passed away unexpectedly on December 21, 2007, the result of an automobile accident. Nancy was born December 24, 1948, the daughter of Elvert and Kathryn (Horton) Mott and grew up in Delton, Michigan. Nancy was accomplished at everything she chose to undertake. She made "top ten" at Delton-Kellogg High School, played both clarinet and saxophone in the band and was the drum majorette. In her freshman year she took first place in the Delton Science Fair and then repeated that accomplishment in her sophomore year. Nancy had perfect penmanship and the gifts she gave looked as if they had been wrapped professionally. Nancy was an optimist, infusing others with her enthusiasm and passion for life. Her St. Patrick's Day parties were legendary. Nancy attended Western Michigan University, spent a year living in Japan, and moved to Chicago in the mid-70's. She had been working for twelve years, as an Executive Secretary for the law firm of Brinks, Hofer, Gilson and Lione! . Nancy is survived by her loving husband Devon Lawson and his son David Westbrook., her father, Elvert Mott, and her brother, Russell Mott and his family. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, December 28, 2007, 1:00 PM, at Faith United Methodist Church, Delton, Pastor David Hills, officiating, with visitation from 12:00 PM until service time. Memorial contributions in memory of Nancy to Faith United Methodist Church will be appreciated. Arrangements by: Williams-Gores Funeral Home, Delton.
