Larry Marrs

 While waiting for a lung transplant, Larry Dean Marrs, 63, lost his battle with pulmonary fibrosis on Thursday, April 19, 2012. Larry was born in Honey Grove to L.D. Marrs and Willa Raye Ware. A 1967 graduate of Denison High School, Larry recieved his B.A. and Master's Degree in teaching from the University of Illinois. Larry enjoyed teaching English at the Hazelwood school district in Missouri.
From 1970 to 1974, Larry was a member of the U.S. Army. In 1975 he returned to Denison and was a disc jockey at KDSX 98.3 FM.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, L.D. "Red" and Willa "PeeWee" Marrs, and stepdaughter Amanda. He is survived by his sister, Glenda and husband Steve Jones of Tom Bean; brother, Tim and wife Sue Marrs of Sherman; daughter, Stephanie and husband Greg Ogle of Louisiana; step-daughters, Christina and Tiffany; grandchildren: Jada, Gabriel, Skylar, Nathan, Austin and Elliana; and significant other.
As requested, Larry was cremated. A service was held Saturday, April 21, 2012 at Oltman Funeral Home in Washington, Mo.
