Comments:

We moved back to the town of my birth, Matador, Texas, after my 7th grade year. I was head cheerleader in 8th grade and a twirler in High School. I graduated from West Texas State University, now called West Texas A&M with a teaching degree in Business Education. After my first year of teaching in Vanderbilt, Texas, I married Jerry and we moved back to Matador. We tried farming, but got rained out that first year. We moved to Hugoton, KS and both taught 1 year. That didn't suit us so we bought a business on Possum Kingdom Lake that had a store, cabins, camper hookups, boat dock, etc. Our first daughter was born while we lived on Possom Kingdom Lake in 1979. About 1983 we decided to move to Cisco. My husband has been in sales since we left Possum Kingdom.
Our second daughter was born in 1984. I started back to teaching 6th grade Social Studies and 7th grade Texas History when she was in the 3rd grade. We have been in Cisco now for about 27 years. Both girls graduated here. Both were cheerleaders. My youngest was Valdictorian of her class. My oldest girl graduated from Hardin Simmons University in Abilene with a teaching certificate and also cheered there. She is married to a Captain in the Air Force, who also played Rugby at Princeton. He is training pilots on T-38's now but they will soon be in Phoenix, AZ for him to train to be an F-16 pilot. They have a precious 2 year old girl and will have another child February 23, 2010. My youngest daughter graduated from Texas Tech in Lubbock and went on to get her masters. She is currently working in the career center at Tech. She married her high school sweetheart who also went to Tech and played football there. Her husband is about to begin his 2nd year of Medical School at Tech.
Jerry and I are very fortunate to have our wonderful daughters and sons in law and grand daughter.

School Story:

I have many fond memories of my school days in Denver City. My going away party at the Shell party room (I think that was what it was called)was just wonderful. It was so hard for me to have to leave Denver City. I remember the 7th grade girls had a "big sister". Judy Self was mine and I have visited with her a few times since I left. I go back to visit my relatives and can't believe how things have changed. I only have grades 1-7 to reminise with everyone. I'd love to hear what happened the 5 years I wasn't around.
