Robert Leo Downing, November 24, 1949 - March 14, 2007

I didn't really know Bob Downing in school but we became good friends about 6 years before he died. I would go by his house when I was in Derby and we would go down to The Shop and have a beer or go to the bowling alley. He was a pretty good bowler and tried to give me some pointers. I couldn't bowl worth a hoot but we enjoyed a lot of laughs. We went to the casino in Oklahoma together and he taught me to play Black Jack. I talked to him on the phone a couple of days before his heart attack. He was the sweetest, most caring guy I have ever known and I miss him terribly.
