Roxie Ann Gabriel Beck

Roxie Ann Gabriel Beck passed away Sunday, February 24, 2019 at Wesley Acres Nursing Home.

She was born on February 15, 1949 to Dorothy Elaine Gabriel and Rocky James Gabriel in Des Moines, Iowa. Roxie graduated high school from St Joseph’s Academy with the class of 1967.
She was employed at her mother’s bar The Office Lounge for 20+ years and then The Register and Tribune for another 20 + years.

She helped raise her two grandchildren Joey and Cali and loved spending time with them. Her family and friends meant the world to her. Some of her hobbies were playing pool, scrabble, reading and making beaded bracelets. She had strength like no other and touched the lives of many people with her love and kindness. She will be missed by all.

She is survived by her daughter Marne Krause, grandchildren, Joey Krause and Cali Krause, aunts Bev Whipple and Helen Graves, siblings Angel Gabriel, Peggy Davis (Larry), Dino Gabriel, Eddie Gabriel, Celeste Gabriel-Slater (Ken), and Bob Gabriel (Cindy) along with very special nieces, nephews and lifelong friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents Rocky and Dodie Gabriel, brother Ross Gabriel and son Anthony Beck.

There will be a celebration of life held for her on Wednesday, March 6 from 5-7 pm at The Rollins Mansion in Des Moines.
