GREGORY DALBEY

Services for Gregory “Greg” Dalbey, 36, of 909 Thompson Ave., who died of leukemia Saturday in Rochester, Minn., will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Ambrose Cathedral. Burial will be in Laurel Hill cemetery.

Mr. Dalbey was born in Des Moines and was a self-employed homebuilder, a member of St. Ambrose Cathedral, an Outward Bound instructor, a graduate of Western State College in Gunnison Colo., and founder of the Search and Rescue Team in Crested Butte, Colo.

Survivors include his wife, Joyce; two sons, Josh Joseph Civitate and Joshua Lloyd, both of Des Moines; a daughter, Michelle Marie Civitate of Des Moines; his parents, Margaret and Gary Dalbey of Des Moines; two brothers, David and Dan, both of Des Moines; four sisters, Gwen Laden of Urbandale, and Patty Konecny, Peggy Freylack and Theresa Grandquist, all of Des Moines; and his paternal grandmother, Irene Dalbey of Ankeny.

A rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. today at Hamilton’s Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Vincent DePaul Society or the Search and Rescue Team of Crested Butte, Colo.
