James Albert Riccio

James Albert Riccio, 66, passed away Sunday, November 8, 2015 at Mercy Medical Center.

James was born July 10, 1949 to Joseph and Dorothy Larson Riccio in Des Moines. He was a graduate of Dowling High School. James was a self employed artist. He enjoyed painting murals and other artwork as well as auto bodywork and custom painting. James enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church.

James is survived by his wife, Aida Ricco; children, John (Amy) Riccio and Vanessa (John) Duncan; mother, Dorothy; grandchildren, Christopher and Abby Duncan and Alexa, Olivia and Caden Riccio; siblings, Sue (Frank) Morano, Brad (Toma) Riccio and Sally Spencer; and a host of extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father and late wife, Julie (Braun) Riccio.

The family will greet friends Thursday, November 12, 2015 from 5 to 7 p.m. with the Rosary recited at 6:30 p.m. at Hamilton's Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday, November 13, 2015 at Christ the King Catholic Church, 5711 SW 9th Street followed by burial at Restland Cemetery in Baxter, Iowa.
