Steffen, Dan 1949-2008

Daniel Martin Steffen was born November 4, 1949 to Elmore “Bud” and Shirley (Gallagher) Steffen in Des Moines, Iowa.

He was raised in the Des Moines area, graduating from Dowling High School. Following graduation, Dan worked several different jobs in Des Moines. Thirty four years ago he moved to Knoxville where he owned and operated Dan’s Village Pump. Dan was united in marriage to Alice Faye Langstraat on May 9, 1998 in Keosauqua, IA.

Dan was preceded in death by his mother, Shirley Steffen.
He passed away on Wednesday, June 4, 2008 at his home at the age of 58 years and 7 months.

Survivors include his wife, Alice, daughters, Heidi Marie Dawson of Pierce City, MO, Heather Joan Vigil of Knoxville, Holly Faye Vaughan of Knoxville; 7 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; father, Elmore “Bud” Steffen of Johnston; brothers, Mike (Darlene) Steffen of Moline, IL, Dave (Teresa) Steffen of Des Moines; sisters, Lori (Roger) Feisener of Urbandale, Cindy (Jim) Mackey of Cumming.
