Greetings Des Moines Hoover Alumni,
I am a member of the Class of '72. I graduated back in a time when the building was brand new. The building and I have aged considerably. However, I attended a recent class graduation ceremony, and I was pleasantly surprised to find that the spirit of learning was fresh and strong. Young adults with goals and dreams standing proud, surveying each others accomplishments, and turning a page in their book of life. I attended because I am one member of a committee that collects donations and then finds individuals that will benefit from added dollars. Books, tuition, lab fees, supplies; Money that will ease the stress of the move to the students next level of education. I am happy to participate because at that age I received grants. I am asking for help with that process. With your support, we can reach more worthy individuals. All donations are tax deductible by law. Any amount can be sent to: Scholarship Fund, 4513 96th St, Urbandale, IA 50322. Paypal (to Hoover72 Scholarship Fund) and Zelle ( 515=249-4742) work, too.

FACT: Our class is the only class who provides scholarships to graduating seniors.
The Class of '72 Scholarship Fund awarded three scholarships for $1000 each on May 15th. During Senior Night we met and awarded these students. Two of the students will be attending Iowa State University and the third will be enrolled at DMACC.
Please consider being a part of this funding. All contributions are welcome.

Graduates,
Well, we have sent our scholarship checks to the schools where our recipients are attending, two at DMACC and one at Coe College in Cedar Rapids. The reunion committee thinks this is a wonderful use of extra funds and a great way to give back to our school. Congratulations for your support as we made the decision to give a hand up to some kids just now starting on their own personal journeys. We wish all of them the best of luck.
Which brings us to August 2023.
A little over a year ago, as we were planning our reunion, several of you asked if we needed help. At that point, no, we did not.
But we think we do now.
The committee would like to pursue non-profit status for a year to see if we can do it again. We can tell you that we have already had commitments from some ‘72 grads who are excited at the prospect. How about you?
We will be meeting again in the near future and would love your feedback.
Thanks for considering this with us; we hope we can count on your support. What a great way to leave our mark on the future!

A huge "Thank You" to all of the classmates who attended the 50th Hoover High School Class of 1972 Reunion. We appreciate you taking time away from your family and friends to attend our reunion. We hope everyone who attended had as much fun as the Reunion Committee members. We felt the entire weekend was a huge sucess. For those classmates who could not make it to the reunion, you were missed!
