I remember Brett playing football for Cumberland with a broken nose in the 6th grade. They didn't come any tougher or more real than Brett. A good friend who met an early end.
I was at some summer class my mother enrolled me in at the Art Institute about 5th grade and we had to draw a picture of something. Brett was about my best friend in the world (Scott Thompson, Eddie Mrowiec, Johnny Fitz, Brett Fisher -- where are you know?) so I drew him running. Like the wind.
