It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Bruce Covert, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. Bruce departed this world on December 12, 2023, in Novi, MI, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories.
Born on January 27, 1941, Bruce was a loving husband to Sharon for 53 years until her passing. Together, they created a beautiful family, surviving through joys and challenges. Bruce is survived by his three devoted children: Carolyn (Robert) Gansen, William (Kelly) Covert, and Amy Covert. His love extended to four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, bringing him immeasurable joy.
Bruce found immense pride in his family and was a pillar of support for each member. His warmth and kindness will forever be remembered by those fortunate enough to have shared their lives with him.
Bruce had a passion for classic cars, relishing in the nostalgia of car shows and the beauty of well-crafted automobiles. Golf was another of his favorite pastimes, providing him moments of relaxation and camaraderie with friends. His enthusiasm for these pursuits showcased his vibrant spirit and zest for life.
In addition to his immediate family, Bruce is survived by his sister, Dr. Pamela Cowell. Sadly, he was preceded in death by his sister, the late Seana Sprey.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Bruce's honor to the Detroit Goodfellows, an organization close to his heart.
Visitation to celebrate Bruce's life will be held at the St. Joseph Catholic Parish Village Church, located at 3430 Dover St, Dexter, MI 48130, on Wednesday, December 20, 2023, starting at 9:30 AM.
