Married Donna Lynn Harnden (Mackenzie HS Class of '59) in 1963. Donna died in 1985. Our story is fictionalized in my novel DESERT LILY (www.desertlilyanovel.com).

Met Merrilee Lane Foxley on a blind date on April Fool's Day in 1992. Married Merrilee in June of 1992.

After teaching chemistry and math for 33 years, took an early retirement in 1995 to concentrate on writing. Began by writing textbooks but moved on to fiction. Newest novel CAST YOUR OWN SHADOW published June 26, 2015 available at Amazon and others. Kindle version will soon be released.

School Story:

Met Donna Lynn Harnden in Biology class at Mackenzie in 1956 and was immediately smitten. Had no luck trying to date her until 1962. We had three children. Donna died in 1985. Our story is fictionalized in my novel DESERT LILY (www.desertlilyanovel.com).

Hey, Gerry, how are you. Glad to see you on this list. What a surprise when I saw you live in Howell. I lived in Howell (703 West Grand River @ George St.) for 20 years and served on the city council for 8. I love that town. Tom lives nearby in Brighton. What have you been doing lately? Donna died of pancreatic cancer in 1885 after successfully combating several years of clinical depression. The fictionalized story of her life as wife of Peter Pascaris (also Class of January, 1959) is told in Peter's novel Desert Lily (www.desertlilyanovel.com). The desert lily, a flower that lies dormant for as long as twenty years before blooming again, serves as a metaphor for her life.
