Obituary for Gerald G. Bohn

GERALD G. BOHN, age 73 of Harbor Beach, passed away Friday, February 13, 2015 at his home under hospice care.

He was born on July 22, 1941 in Cass City to the late George and Elsie (Witzke) Bohn. Jerry served in the US Army during Vietnam. He was preceded in death by his wife Clare (Nantais) in 1987. Their children are Chad Bohn and his wife Antoinette of Caseville, Marc Bohn and his wife Jodi of Waterford, 4 grandchildren: Christopher Bohn, Madeline Bohn, Kathryn Bohn and Julia Bohn. He is survived by his sister Judy Swanson, his step-mother Lena Bohn and three step-brothers: Wayne, Ronnie and Larry.

Jerry is also survived by his second wife Christine (Harris) and six step-children: Penelope & Todd Karr of Roseville, Michael & Barbara Oyler of St. Clair Shores, Katharyn & Jim Turski of Shelby, Jason & Heather Oyler of St. Clair Shores, Mahni Adams of Warren, Jennifer & Bill Betham of Shelby Township, 15 step grandchildren and 3 step great grandchildren.

Jerry was a member of Our Lady of Lake Huron Catholic Church, of the Holy Name of Mary Parish, the American Legion Post 197 of Harbor Beach, the Knights of Columbus, the Multi Lakes Conservation Club, the Harbor Beach Gun Club, and the Men’s Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, cooking and bird watching.

Funeral Mass for Jerry will be Monday, February 16, 2015 at 11 am at Our Lady of Lake Huron Catholic Church, of the Holy Name of Mary Parish, with Fr. William Spencer officiating. Military Honors will be given by the American Legion Post 197. Cremation will follow at Sunset Valley Crematory, with internment being at St. Anthony’s Church Cemetery. Visitation for Jerry will be Sunday, February 15, 2015 from 2-8pm at the Ramsey Funeral Home of Harbor Beach. Visitation on Monday will be at the church beginning at 10 am until time of services at 11 am. A Knights of Columbus Rosary will be Sunday at 5 pm at the funeral home. A Parish Vigil Service will take place Sunday at 7:30 pm at the funeral home.
